NATRUE
Natural cosmetics are not always natural cosmetics. NATRUE is the first internationally recognised quality seal for organic and natural cosmetics and thus creates clarity in the label ‘jungle’. Any products featuring the label of NATRUE guarantee the highest standards.
Each product is inspected by independent certification companies and the non-profit organisation NATRUE monitors the quality of the criteria. The first Weleda products, featuring the NATRUE label came on the market in the spring of 2009.
Vegan
Products that are marked as vegan don’t contain any raw materials derived from animals.
All Weleda cosmetic products and foods are suitable for vegetarians abstaining from meat and fish. However, a contact of these products and their raw materials to material of animal origin during the manufacturing process cannot be ruled out entirely.
Products that are not marked as vegan contain raw materials derived from animals like bees wax, and its derivatives, lanolin, goat milk and/or lactose in natural cosmetic products or honey in elixirs.

Whatever the cause of sensitive skin, it always needs special care. Sensitive Skin Body Wash - Almond has been developed especially for skin that irritates easily. Mild, plant-based surfactants gently cleanse while the soap-free formula with organic almond oil replenishes the lipid layer – helping regulate the skin’s moisture balance, for a soothing shower and silky soft skin.

The fine and light Sweet Almond Oil is very skin-friendly and ideal for sensitive, rough, flaky and dry skin. Sweet Almond Oil is very suitable for the care of infants and small children. It is characterised by a high content of unsaturated fatty oils, such as oil and linoleic acid.

Shea Butter is a semi-solid, butter-like vegetable fat. The skin-friendly Shea Butter is mainly used to improve consistency. It leaves a fine film on the skin, which has smoothing properties and preserves the moisture of the skin.

Alcohol is another term for ethanol or ethyl alcohol. In manufacturing plant extracts contained in Weleda's products, mixtures of alcohol and water are used as extraction agents in some formulations. The consistency and stability of natural cosmetic products are improved by alcohol.

Glycerin
Glycerin is a natural ingredient in vegetable and animal fats and oils, which mainly consists of triglycerides (compound of glycerol with three fatty acids). In cosmetic products glycerin is used as a moisturising agent due to its hygroscopic (water-attracting) properties. Besides that, it helps with the distribution of O/W emulsions (oil-in-water-emulsions) and it smoothes and protects the skin.

Coco-Glucoside
Coco-Glucosides are mild, washing-active substances with decent detergency and foaming power. They are produced from vegetable oils and are therefore readily biodegradable. Coco-Glucosides are also especially well-suited to cleanse sensitive skin.

Disoidum Cocoyl Glutamate is a mild surfactant with very good cleaning properties and a very good foam performance. It is very suitable for cleaning hair and sensitive skin. Vegetable oils and sugar are the raw materials that are used to manufacture this detergent.
