NATRUE
Natural cosmetics are not always natural cosmetics. NATRUE is the first internationally recognised quality seal for organic and natural cosmetics and thus creates clarity in the label ‘jungle’. Any products featuring the label of NATRUE guarantee the highest standards.
Each product is inspected by independent certification companies and the non-profit organisation NATRUE monitors the quality of the criteria. The first Weleda products, featuring the NATRUE label came on the market in the spring of 2009.

Description
Sea salt has a mouth-watering effect – literally! Weleda formulated this toothpaste to let saliva do its natural work, gently flushing your whole mouth clean. Natural extracts of myrrh and chestnut bark tone the gums, while gently abrasive particles clean the teeth to prevent plaque and tartar building up, protecting against the formation of cavities. The zesty, salty taste is further freshened with essential oil of peppermint, for tingly-fresh tooth-cleaning, without fluorides.

Essential oils are important ingredients of the dark-yellow to reddish coloured myrrha resin. Myrrha extracts are astringent and toning. They are suitable ingredients of dental care products, as well as for the care of tired and pale skin.
Horse Chestnut Bark Extract
Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Bark Extract
The extract of chestnut bark is characterized by the tannins it contains and the associated tonic effect. Therefore, the extract is a suitable ingredient for toothpastes. According to the anthroposophical understanding of man and nature, the preparation of Chestnut Bark Extract has a positive supportive effect on the dental area.

Glycerin is a natural ingredient in vegetable and animal fats and oils, which mainly consists of triglycerides (compound of glycerol with three fatty acids). In cosmetic products glycerin is used as a moisturising agent due to its hygroscopic (water-attracting) properties. Besides that, it helps with the distribution of O/W emulsions (oil-in-water-emulsions) and it smoothes and protects the skin.

Alcohol is another term for ethanol or ethyl alcohol. In manufacturing plant extracts contained in Weleda's products, mixtures of alcohol and water are used as extraction agents in some formulations. The consistency and stability of natural cosmetic products are improved by alcohol.

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil
Jojoba Seed Oil is an oily liquid wax that is very similar to the protective layer of the human skin. At the same time, it supports the barrier function of the skin. Thereby it protects the skin against water loss without leaving it greasy. It is very skin friendly, easily absorbed and is therefore a suitable care product for all skin types, especially for dry skin. It is also very suitable as a foundation oil, which does not go off.
